Understanding conditions for sustainable supply chain managing: - Situations from China's food control sectorвЂ©

International (MNC) food processors are facing rapid development in rising markets and a concurrent need for environmentally friendly supply chain management (SSCM). A comparative case study of the practices of two MNC processors in China provides insights into the impact market conditions have on the viability of SSCM strategies. Findings suggest that low stakeholder objectives for double bottom line sustainability may limit widespread prospect of SSCM. However given evolving institutions, a SSCM technique may provide advantages for proper input cpus, facilitating quality and fortifying relationships viewed as more useful for reducing source risk than contracts, which can be challenging to legally impose.
